On this blog I’m going to consider what was so fantastic about the songs that became standards and ask the questions: was it because their forms were easy for jazzers to remember? should we be approaching modern songs as the new standards? Why verses disappeared and is this because they weren’t liked, or were too complex to remember..?
My foray into blogging has partly come about by reading Sarah Ellen-Hughes newsletter blog about when it is appropriate to ask an audience to be quiet… I’ll find the link and add it here… in the meantime, what are your thoughts?

Lots to blog about!
I have finally got around to becoming a blogger (is this the right description), or a bloggee?
Whilst thinking about the possibilities for my blogs I have started to come up with lots of topics…but like everyone else, time is short and the multitude of social networking, web updating etc etc takes chunks out of one’s day!
So to get things going I’ m going to start blogs as and when I think of the topic even if I don’t get around to blogging on that particular topic straight away, who knows, others may add to the topic before I do!
